Produce
New this year, we are offering our Merry Gardens Farm community the opportunity to order directly from the farm. Order what you want, when you want. Place your order by 4pm on Monday, pick up in the parking lot next to Harmony Foods between 5-6pm on Wednesday or at the Walker Farmer’s Market 9-1 on Thursday.
We will be updating our quantities each week. What we don’t sell directly to you will be available at the farmer’s market in Walker on Thursdays 9-2 | The Green Scene and Bagley on Fridays 3-6 | Bagley City Park.
Plants
We pack a lot of seed trays here on the farm in order to succession our vegetables and keep them growing throughout the season. This is good news for the many gardeners in the Merry Gardens Farm community who appreciate an organic selection of nursery plants whenever possible. We use organic seeds and/or non GMO grown in an organic potting soil mix. Your timing matches ours, with your plants at peak readiness for transplant into your garden at the time a Minnesota season typically allows. Look for the other plants we may be able to offer from the farm as well, like perennial flowers or trees and shrubs. Delivery is the last week of May, or pick up here on the farm if you want them earlier.
Farm Goods
Fresh whole veggies aren’t the only types of goodness you can get from the farm. Look for many of them to be the basis of cottage foods like jams and pickles added to our farm store throughout the season. And you can always find our fresh roast coffees plus our growing selection of other Merry Gardens farm merchandise.
HOW TO ORDER
Place your order with us online by Monday at 4 pm. We will have your order ready to pick up in Bemidji on Wednesday between 5-5:30 pm in the parking lot next to Harmony Foods, or Thursday 9-1 at the Walker Farmer’s Market.
You don’t need to live on a farm to be a part of one.
When you participate in a CSA - Community Supported Agriculture - you become a vital piece of what keeps small farms going.
Your participation is more than just about buying some great produce. Your involvement is actually an investment into community. Your contribution procures not only fresh and nutritious foods for you and your family, but together we help solidify the livelihood of farmers in the area for building a local sustainable food network. For now. For the future.
CSAs traditionally require an upfront investment to help the farmer with the expenses of preparing for the season. In this exchange, the CSA member is guaranteed fresh vegetables from the garden each week throughout the season. This year we are not requiring the upfront investment nor weekly delivery of random (and delicious!) bag of what’s ready for harvest. Instead, we are opening up the harvest to our past and new CSA members in a way that allows you to order what you want when you want with your online order.
Here’s How It Works:
Place your order by 4pm on Monday, pick up in the parking lot next to Harmony Foods between 5-5:30 pm on Wednesday or Thursday at the Green Scene Farmer’s Market in Walker. What’s left will be sold at the farmer’s markets in Walker (Thursday 9-2 | The Green Scene) and Bagley (Friday 3-6 Bagley | City Park).
Our online CSA will start as soon as the produce becomes available for harvest. Check back starting late May and throughout the summer as we will continue to add and update our fresh quantities weekly.
