Be Healthy, be Happy!
At Merry Gardens Farm, we believe that healthy people are happier people. That means starting with the basics: eating good food. It’s pretty simple. What our food eats, we eat. How we treat our soils is the most important factor to raising food, both plant and animal, that nourishes our families. Poor soils, poor food, poor health.
Collectively, we are re-awakening to the joy, and the need, for sustainable farming practices. The kind of intentional farming that recognizes the biology beneath the surface is our biggest ally to crop resiliency and nutritious output. We grew up in farming communities, Randy (Olson) in the Red River Valley of North Dakota, and Jill (Pederson) in the northwest corner of Minnesota. We are old enough to remember when the heart of a farming discussion in the spring was a planting schedule according to soil management guidelines, factoring in crop rotation for weed control and nutrient cycling. It worked then, the world was fed, and it works now.
We grow good food here on the farm, and we love sharing it with others. Planting in the rich, nourishing soil is not just a task but a labor of love. Every day on the land is a blessing. We invite you to join us.
